Location: ON-SITE (Vancouver, Canada)

Service Areas: Both residential and commercial contractors across North America (The United States, Canada, and Mexico) & Australia.

Our team is on the lookout for a dedicated construction estimator specialized in material takeoffs.

Job Summary:

As a Construction Estimator at Master Estimators Ltd., you will be at the heart of our mission to support clients’ needs for precise quantity takeoffs.

This on-site role requires a keen eye for detail to analyze construction drawings, execute comprehensive quantity takeoffs, and format this data into our project-specific templates.

We are particularly interested in candidates with a wide background in construction estimating—especially those who have worked with a variety of materials and construction techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drawing Analysis: Carefully review construction drawings and specifications to accurately assess the scope of work.
  • Risk Management: Identify and evaluate potential risks in project estimates, suggesting effective mitigation strategies.
  • Technical Proficiency: Deliver a solid understanding of construction materials and methods, with an ability to adapt to project-specific requirements.
  • Bid Preparation: Compile and submit detailed bid packages, ensuring compliance with all client needs and the right documentation.
  • Industry Insight: Keep up to date on industry trends, material costs, and advancements in construction technology.
  • Process Enhancement: Actively contribute to the perfection of our estimating processes and methodologies.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in construction estimating. With a preference for candidates who have a diverse background in various construction materials.
  • Proficient in PlanSwift estimating software and the MS Office Suite.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction practices, materials, and current market trends.
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Competent in interpreting architectural drawings and specifications.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong emphasis on accuracy and quality.

Working Conditions:

  • Fully on-site position.
  • Flexible working hours. Main focus on meeting project deadlines.
